What is the vision blender?

Mixer Vision, also referred to as a video switch, is a machine that is used to receive various video sources and create a single output. It is most often used in live situations where video is broadcast or recording. In addition to being able to draw from different sources, it can also usually add special effects or mix two or more sources together to create one output. The term video blender is most predominant in Europe, while in the United States (USA) the term for such devices is usually a video switch or manufacturing switch. Vision Mixer, video switch and production switch can also refer to a person who runs the machine, although in the US the operator is more often referred to as technical director.

The most common use of the vision blender is in professional video production. This can range from a production studio to a distant truck that makes live broadcasts, although more often the vision mixers are used in live feeding, also called in realTime, in real time, production. Mixers move in quality and effects depending on their use. Video blends used for remote broadcasting are usually smaller and have less skills than larger used in production equipment.

Vision Mixers work very much like its sound counterpart, sound blender. They create a main image from several sources and usually add some kind of effects, such as a special transition screen between different images. The vision blender has different types, but most share some basic components.

The most basic part of the Vision Mixer is a bus that contains several buttons that are used to switch between different signals coming to the device. Usually, the blender will have at least two buses to see: program bus and buse preview. Program bus usually contains a picture or images that are recorded or broadcastOna, and check buses reviews and add effects to the pictures before their broadcast. Having double bus settings allows smoother transitions and avoids displaying any images or shots that are unnecessary.

The vision blender operator is responsible for handling the pictures and coordinating of the buses. Most often, this person receives entry from the director what to do and when. In many recorded situations, where adjustments are made after reality, effects and mixing are performed more with a computer than with vision mixers.
