Scholarship to study in the U.S.

There are the following scholarships (all scholarships can be collectively referred to as Scholarship):
1. Fellowship: This is your favorite scholarship. You do nt have to pay for work without paying taxes; even if you pay, the tax rate is lower than TA or RA.
2. Tuition Scholarship: Help you pay all or part of your tuition.
3. Teaching Assistantship (TA): Teaching assistants, usually 1/2 teaching assistants, teaching lessons, changing homework, marking papers, and organizing discussions for undergraduate students. They usually work 20 hours a week with relatively fixed tasks. 1/2 means that you only need to work 20 hours a week (full-time work is 40 hours a week, 20 hours is exactly 1/2). Go to the TA, but have not passed the TSE. Generally, the school will give you TA training in advance. This usually requires you to enter the school earlier than other people, but this training is also paid by the school, so don't worry.
4. Research Assistantship (RA): Research assistants, usually helping to work in experiments, the degree of hard work depends on what your boss wants you to do, there may be nothing to do, it will be very easy; there may be many Live and tired. This is related to the professor.
Regarding TA and RA (sometimes collectively referred to as the Graduate Assistantship), taxes are definitely payable. For your one-year salary, according to the Sino-US agreement on scholarships for international students, the first $ 5000 is not taxed. The extra part is subject to federal, state, and local taxes. At the same time, the requirements of different states are different, but generally at least 15 %. But at the end of the year, because students belong to low-income groups, according to US law, a partial tax refund is required to return about half of the tax you paid.
As for scholarships, it is necessary to find out in advance whether they are one year, two years or until graduation. Many universities issue fellowships to first-year freshmen, and change to TA or RA in the next few years; some also mean that only the first year is issued, and future scholarships depend on the evaluation of the future. This assessment generally requires you to achieve a grade of B or above each year, but Chinese students are very hardworking and hard working there, and they have been able to pass the assessment and continue to receive scholarships.
