What is the emergency room technician doing?

In the United States, the technician of the emergency room (ERT) is a healthcare professional who helps with the care of patients in the hospital's emergency room. Ert works under the supervision of doctors and registered nurses. It may be responsible for performing tests in patients with readiness, setting diagnostic machines and preparing patients for testing. Some Ert are students who are trying to become doctors or nurses. Others continue medical training to become healthcare professionals or emergency doctors. Specific ERT requirements differ depending on the hospital and location. In general, education or GED in high school is required for this position, along with certified nursing or certified training of medical assistants. These certification programs can usually be found on a community, junior or university. Online programs are also available.
