What Is Criminal Psychology?

Criminal Psychology is a discipline that studies prisoners' will, thoughts, intentions, and reactions, and is related to criminal anthropology. The main part of the in-depth research is the question of "what causes a person to commit a crime", and it also includes the response after a person commits a crime (the reaction after absconding or waiting in court). Criminal psychologists can also act as witnesses to help the court understand the prisoner's psychology. Psychiatry also deals with some criminal acts.

The study of criminal psychology is the process of collecting data, analyzing and interpreting the data in order to understand the criminal problems in society from a psychological perspective. Basic physiological research
Includes research on the relationship between body type-character and crime, chromosomal mutation-characteristic abnormality and crime, endocrine disorders-emotional disorder and crime, EEG disorder-consciousness and crime, and blood type-personality and crime and many more. A large number of studies in this area have been carried out using natural science methods and techniques. American criminal psychologist Titus said: "Our criminal psychology research can only be renewed by the joint efforts of biologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, and electroencephalists." The criminal psychologist also pointed out : "Society should recognize that if we want to establish such an attitude towards criminal psychology, this attitude has both social science grounds and natural science methods, and is in line with the latest achievements in contemporary physiology, medical science, and psychology. Combined, then our criminal psychology can emerge with a brand new attitude before the end of the 20th century. "
Personality and personality changes
Many criminal psychologists are committed to studying the specific personality traits of offenders and the origin of such personality traits. They systematically compare various aspects of the offender's personality with those who are not offenders in an attempt to determine the personality characteristics of the offender. They refer to a wide range of personalities, such as Raymond: "Personality is all about an individual, including wisdom, character, instinctual drive, emotional stability, attitude, interest, temperament, sociality and personal appearance, and His general social efficacy. " "It is a psychological system that regulates the environment." Criminal psychologists who study the personality problems of criminals generally believe that the development of a person's criminal psychology to a change of personality indicates that the person's criminal psychology has been finalized. To rectify this mentally fixed personality requires extremely delicate, complex and long-term work. Therefore, the study of the personality changes of criminals is a very subtle and in-depth subject in criminal psychology. Japanese criminal psychologist Jungen Jun also pointed out: "In the past, the research of criminal psychology was limited to exploring how a person's criminal psychology is generatedthat is, based on physical or social reasons. Therefore, in the past, all the research focused on individuals with criminal psychology. Exploration and lectures on factor one and social factors. After the establishment of the criminal personality theory, a new face of criminal psychology has emerged. In this way, the specific research methods of criminal psychology have been broadened in the discussion of criminal personality problems. "
