What are eCG calipers?

Cliper is a measuring tool used to measure thickness, distance and diameter. The ECG calipers are most often of a type called the dividers, consisting of two swivel, adjustable legs with a point or tip at the end of each foot. They are used in medicine, especially in cardiology, and are specifically calibrated to measure distance or interval between rows on a graph called electrocardiogram (shortened as ECG or ECG). Many eCG stirrups include a separate ruler to measure the distance between the tips of the caliper after being placed on the lines or the waves of the ECG chart. The ruler then gives a measurement that often translates distance into seconds, for example 25 mm, can balance 1 second, allowing the user to explore ECG and diagnosis. This diagnostic procedure is particularly considered to be eportive in the diagnosis of heart problems related to abnormal heart rhythm. For the test, skin electrodes are attached to the legs, arms and chest. These electrodes are connected to the ECG device KTEIt is then able to provide detailed, non -invasive recording of electrical pulses of the heart as a number of waves. The created graph is then examined and interpreted by a specialist and the ECG calipers are commonly used to interpret reading.

ECG calipers are often made of steel or other metal and the normal size is approximately 4-5 inches (10-15 cm) long, even if they come in different sizes. ECG tips are very fine and sharp to be safely and precisely located on ECG graphics paper. These tips are often covered with a removable protective cap. Some ECG calipers are Vernier calipers, which means that they have tips that slide along the tool rather than speaking legs for measurement. Vernier calipers usually have a built -in ruler or scale on the instrument itself.

As software programs are available computer versions of ECG calipers. This type of software allows measuring and interpretation of ECG results directlyOn the computer screen in cases where ECG is available as a computer file rather than printed on graphic paper. The interface for this type of ECG calipers is commonly designed to look like a manual measurement tool and manipulate a computer mouse on the screen.
