What are Febrile Seizures?
Fever convulsions refer to convulsions that occur when children's body temperature rises above 39 ° C in the early stages of respiratory infections or other infectious diseases, and exclude intracranial infection and other organic or metabolic diseases that cause convulsions. Mainly manifested as sudden tonic or clonic convulsions in the whole or local muscle group, binocular stare, strabismus, straight or upturned, and loss of consciousness. Fever convulsions are divided into simple high fever convulsions and complex high fever convulsions. It can occur in children of all ages (except the neonatal period), and it is more common from 6 months to 4 years. Simple fever is better after convulsions, and complex fever is worse.

- 1. The age of onset is mostly 6 months to 4 years, and it can also be <6 months or> 4 years.

Fever convulsive treatment principles
- 1. Control convulsions.
- 2. Cool down.
- 3. Etiology treatment.
- 4. Prevent recurrence of convulsions.
Fever convulsive medication principles
- 1. The stable intravenous injection is preferred, and phenobarbital sodium or other drugs are used to control and maintain the efficacy after convulsions. Diazepam has the side effects of inhibiting breathing, heartbeat, and lowering blood pressure, so cardiopulmonary resuscitation measures should be prepared.
- 2. Isobarbital sodium or thiopental sodium should be used only when the above anti-altering drugs are ineffective. Thiopental sodium can cause laryngospasm. Do not move your head to prevent laryngospasm. The head should be tilted back, support the lower jaw, prevent the root of the tongue from falling, and intramuscularly injected atropine to relieve spasm.
- 3. When convulsions are persistent and intracranial hypertension occurs, 20% mannitol and furosemide should be used to reduce intracranial pressure.
- 4. People with high fever have multiple rows of physical cooling or / and drug cooling.
- 5. Give appropriate etiology treatment to convulsions of different etiology.
