What are some symptoms of frostbite?

Frostbite occurs when the skin tissues of the body are damaged due to long -term exposure to 23 degrees Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius). Skin damage can be temporary or permanent. There are several symptoms of frostbite that should note those who walk in winter weather. One symptom of frostbite is that the internal body temperature decreases, causing a condition called hypothermia.

Other signs of frostbite include numbness or tingling and burning inside the affected part of the body. The skin grows pale, red and eventually seems to be white purple if allowed to freeze. The damaged part of the body may feel wooden. The impaired blood circulation has a higher risk of condition. Frostbite can affect any part of the body, but most often occurs on the legs, toes, ear tips or end of the nose. Early treatment may result in a complete recovery. Severe frostbite can lead to gangrene, death of body tissue. Avoid friction of the skin as it can increase the destruction of damaged tocan and tissues. The friction caused by friction of the skin can also increase the risk of infection.

Place the ice cream in a bath filled with water between 104 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit (40 and 40.5 degrees Celsius). Keep it immersed in water for at least an hour. Treatment of the affected area with warm water causes blood vessels to expand and improve blood circulation. If there is no access to warm water, place the affected area under the armpit or between the thighs.

Another way to protect against frostbite is to wear a face mask. Heavy gloves should be worn instead of traditional gloves, because the fingers hold together inside the handle, creating more body heat. Wear clothing layers while exercising. Layers of clothing insulate the body and provide further protection against frostbite.
