What Are the Symptoms of Mold Exposure?
Mycotic vaginitis or candidal vaginitis, or vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), is a common multiple vulvovaginal inflammatory disease caused by Candida. Candida albicans is a conditional pathogen. 10% to 20% of non-pregnant women and 30% of pregnant women have this parasite in the vagina, but the amount of bacteria is small and does not cause symptoms. Mycotic vaginitis test
- Gynecological examination showed white thick tofu-like leucorrhea; vaginal mucosa was red and swollen, and severe vaginal ulcers formed. The secretions were placed on 10% KOH slides and the hyphae were found under a microscope. If there are symptoms and multiple microscopy tests are negative, culture can be used for culture.
Diagnosis of mycotic vaginitis
- 1. The vulva is itchy and the vaginal discharge is white and thick tofu residue;
- 2. The vaginal mucosa is red and swollen, and the superficial ulcer is severely formed;
- 3. Candida albicans was found in vaginal secretions. Take a little vaginal secretion and put it on 10% KOH or saline slide. After mixing, find the hypha under the microscope to confirm the diagnosis. 10% KOH can dissolve other cell components, and the positive rate of detection is 70% 80%. If there are symptoms and multiple microscopy tests are negative, culture can be used to confirm the diagnosis.
