What Are Threadworms?

The nematode phylum is one of the largest phylums in the animal kingdom. It is a prosthetic cavity animal, with more than 28,000 recorded species, and a large number of species have not been named. Most of them are cylindrical and small, also known as roundworms. They can be found everywhere in freshwater, seawater, and land. No matter the number of individuals or species, they often surpass other animals. They can be found in extreme environments such as Antarctica and trenches. In addition, many species of nematodes are parasitic (more than 16,000 species), including pathogens of many plants and animals. Only arthropods are more diverse than nematodes.
