What causes the ear cauliflower?
A flower ear, a condition in which the cartilage in the outer ear becomes pale, shriveled and deformed, usually evolves as a result of injury, often some type of dull trauma on the outer ear. This may then cause blood to join or knock between the skin and the underlying cartilage, cut off the blood supply to the cartilage and lead to the death of the tissue. As soon as this happens, the cartilage folds itself, which gives it a crumpled appearance of a similar cauliflower. Often it is the result of a type of trauma dull force to the ear, such as a punch or a fall where the side of the head hits the floor. Damage may cause a single incident or may be the result of many injuries over time.
People who are likely to be hit in the ear because of their profession or activities such as boxers, fighting artists or wrestlers, are particularly prone to the development of Cauliflower Ear. The condition is sometimes called a boxing ear or wrestler. Wearing a head protective cover that covers the ears during these activities can noASTO help to avoid the problem.
Once the ear is injured, the blood may collect and form a hematoma or a clot between the skin and the cartilage that forms most of the structure of the outer ear. This area can also be sensitive to infection that can further separate the skin and cartilage. The ear cartilage gets the entire blood supply from the surrounding skin, so when both are separated, oxygen and nutrients no longer get into the cartilage. If the problem is not treated with relatively rapidly draining fluid, using compression and the treatment of any infection, tissue may die of lack of blood flow.
After the cartilage died in the outer ear, it begins to develop the appearance that the cauliflower gives him. The dead tissue is folded down and pulls into itself, it appears crumpled, lumpy or swollen. Due to the lack of blood supply, it may also seem very pale, which further contributes to the similarity to the cauliflower view. AlthoughE Treatment can prevent the ear deformation in this way, as soon as this happens, it is difficult or impossible to fix and is likely to be permanent.
