(According to the Beijing Youth Daily) Human feet, like other organs in the body, gradually degenerate with age. Foot pain is a manifestation of degenerative changes. Especially the elderly and frail people usually walk less often, the skin and muscles of the soles of the feet become soft, and the subcutaneous fat becomes thinner. When walking, the bones next to the feet are painful. The following types of foot diseases are more likely to cause foot pain and should be promptly examined and treated in the hospital.
I. Pain pain: It is more common in elderly people who are bedridden and frail. It also occurs frequently in the elderly with flat feet. The cause of this disease is excessive physical weakness or prolonged bed rest, maintaining the gradual relaxation of the arch ligaments, resulting in inability to maintain the shape of the arch, depression of the sacrum of the foot, and fatigue of the muscles of the soles. The prevention and treatment method is to bend the five fingers together often, walk with the five fingertips and heels, and keep exercising, so that the arch of the foot can be formed as soon as possible. A 1 cm high, 2 cm long, 3 cm wide hard rubber pad can also be nailed in the middle of the sole. When walking, the soles of the feet are stuck on the hard rubber pad, so that the weight of the body does not fall completely on the cheekbones, which can alleviate the pain of the palate.
Second, toe valgus: more common in middle-aged and elderly women, mainly manifested when walking or standing, toe pain, thumb tip significantly tilted to the little finger, toe-sacral joint swelling, local skin thickening, this disease has certain genetic factors. The prevention and treatment method is to wear appropriate elastic shoes. When sleeping at night, you can fix the thumb with a special small splint. Try to make the valgus thumb return to the neutral position. If the condition is serious, surgical treatment is needed.
Third, meningitis: The patellar aponeurosis of the elderly is poor in elasticity and reduced in function. If you run and jump violently, walk for a long time, and are stimulated by cold and humidity, inflammation is prone to occur. The prevention and treatment method is that the elderly do not run and jump violently, wash their feet with hot water, and walk on tiptoes as much as possible. If the disease is serious, ask the doctor to use prednisone with procaine to partially close it.
Fourth, Achilles tendonitis: Achilles tendon and its surrounding tissues are prone to aseptic inflammation due to trauma, excessive friction or long-term strain, especially when wearing small and hard leather shoes, which are more likely to rub the Achilles tendon repeatedly. The method for preventing and controlling hair is to change into large soft shoes, walk less, hot heels with hot water, and can be cured after a few days of rest.
5. Calcaneal spurs: Calcaneal spurs are common in the elderly. Most people have pain caused by aseptic inflammation of the bursa due to long heel spurs. Long bone spurs do not necessarily require surgery to cure foot pain, as long as the inflammation of the bursa around the bone spurs can prevent foot pain. The commonly used method is to often use hot water to iron the feet, and do less intense running and jumping activities. It can also be treated with physical therapy, acupuncture, and massage. If the pain is severe, ask your doctor to inject a suspension of procaine and prednisone in your heel, once a week, usually three or four times.
