What causes scanning of bones?

In general, there are two types of stains on bone scanning. Hot places are formed when radioactive material or stopor accumulates in the bone areas. Cold spots are formed in areas where the tracing machine has accumulated. Loss of bone can cause a cold spot while arthritis, infections or broken bones can cause hot spots. Tumors and cancer can cause one type.

Some cancer, such as prostate, lungs and breast cancer, cause hot spots when scanning bones when metastasis cancer or bone. The bone cancer also appears as hot places. These dark areas are caused by the growth of excess tissue and the stopper accumulation. A person with Paget's unsenssal bones does not affect, so old bones can decompose faster than new bones are formed. As the disease progresses, the new bones are formed too fast to compensate for the a deterortion of old bones and the new tissue is not created fully and can be soft and weak.

osteomyelitis, type of bone infection,It also causes hot spots. Infection is usually caused by bacteria staphylococcus that can infect bones and joints. A person can get bone infection when they suffer a wound or broken bones. In some cases, bacteria may enter the body when a broken bone is treated.

Cold spots on bone scan indicates that the stopor has accumulated in this part of the bone. This type of space can cause blood flow to bone or bone infarction. When a person suffers from a bone heart attack, a part of the bone that no longer receives blood may die, leading her to collapse.

Another cause of cold scan spots is multiple myeloma, a type of cancer that causes the body to produce excess plasma or white blod cell. These cells then transport bone marrow and reduce the number of red blood cells. Plasma cells can also form small bones and damage bones.
