What is the stadiometer?

The stadiometer is a device used to measure height. It is most common in medical facilities such as medical offices. Stadiometers are usually used for regular medical tests, although they are also used for other types of tests and experiments. The typical model consists of a ruler that is vertically mounted on the wall, with a movable horizontal piece that rests on the head of the measured person. This piece shows height based on its position on the ruler.

Although the mechanical stadiometer on the wall wall continues to be popular, there are different versions of this equipment. Some models use an electronic sensor height, which is then displayed on a digital reader. There are also light, portable stadiometers that can be used against the wall or on the stand.

Some stadiometers mounted on the wall have joints so that they can move flat against the wall when they are not used. There is also a slide model that works similar on meterIce tape. After expanding the tape to the full height of the patient, it can be locked and the results appear in the window on the tape dispenser.

The typical stadiometer will be measured both in centimeters and inch, but the number of additions between them may vary between different models. Most models also have a way to lock your head so that accurate measurements can be recorded. They tend to be made of materials such as aluminum or robust plastic.

The price and construction of the stadiometer can vary very much. A typical doctor's office usually purchases a simple model and can find that it is sufficient mechanical device. Laboratories and other research devices tend to use luxury, digital models that ensure greater accuracy.

Infant is measured lying down, so doctors use another type of device to determine their height. A device that is a bridge similar to a stadiometer is an infant rod that is essentially menThe version of the same equipment and is used horizontally. Another device is a rubber ruler that is large enough to hold the whole body of the child. It has a metal head that extends vertically from the rubber mat and the movable leg, which is placed against the legs of a fully extended child to determine manual reading. Another device is this infantometer, a type of plastic trough with a movable piece of legs, which shows the height of the window on the side of the device that rests on the ruler.
