What is prurigo simplex?

prurigo simplex is a pruritism skin disorder characterized by extremely itchy skin nodes and lesions. Usually there is no direct cause of prurigo simplex, but it is known that some factors cause or worsen it. This condition falls between chronic and acute and sometimes passes to a chronic state. Many people experience repetition of the state after the period of remission. In this condition, middle -aged patients are the most susceptible age group. These nodes are often scratched and become lesions that continue itching. Sometimes the skin densifies and turns around the knots. Scalp, arms, legs and body suitcase are the most common places of bumps and lesions. Itching can become serious and common, worsen the condition and possibly cause infections in open pains.

Sometimes nodes become smalleristening and eventually disappear and leaves a colored area or scar. However, the same nodes may persist months or even years, without recovery. Patients can experience remission, but then relaps with new nodes. The condition may also be chronic, without a period of improvement and relief.

Although the exact causes of Prurigo Simplex have not been determined, it is believed that there are many aggravating factors that can cause the condition. In some cases, the factors are extremes of colds, heat or sunlight. Food, drugs and other allergies can cause prurigo simplex. The condition seems to be triggered or impaired by emotional stress. Chronic infections such as sinusitis and endocrine or metabolic disorders can also play roles.

prurigo simplex treatment is sometimes difficult because the common treatment of other skin conditions is not always effective. Corticrems in Kosmik and ultraviolet light treatment sometimes work. One promising treatment is Psoraln photomotherapy in the form of ultraviolet and (Puva) psoraln Ultraviial psoraln. The patient is bathing in Psoraln solution and then exposed to ultraviolet radiation in a series of treatments. Psoraln is a compound derived from plants, thanks to which cells are more sensitive to the effects of ultraviolet light.

Another prurigo simplex treatment is steroid injection in nodes, as well as antihistamines and deposits. Patients are recommended to avoid strong sunlight, temperature extremes and activities that cause the body overheating. If emotional stress is one of the triggers, learning to cope with stress can help relieve symptoms. Determining whether allergies contribute to the problem, the avoidance of the allergen could lead to the improvement of the prurigo simplex.
