What Is Sperm Count?
Sperm count is to count the number of sperm in the discharged semen under a microscope. Multiply the sperm count value by the amount of sperm to get the amount of ejaculation. The normal value of sperm count is (50 100) × 10 ^ 9 / L. The total number of spermatozoa in one ejaculation is above 40 × 10 ^ 6 / ML.
Sperm count
- Normal reference value: 100-150 million / ml. If the number of sperm is less than 60 million / ml, there is very little chance of giving birth. [1]
- If the sperm count is less than 20 × 109 / L, it is called oligospermia: seen in varicocele, radiation damage, congenital or acquired testicular malformation, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, testicular inflammation, testicular atrophy, vas deferens and seminal vesicle defects .
