What is a chat client?

Chat client is a software program designed for use in online chat rooms. It can also be associated with programs for quick sending of messages (IM), although IM programs are designed to use the website. As a result, standard IM programs are more similar to plug-in than a fully recommended chat client. Common IM programs and chat clients are that both allow real -time communication among people who are online at the same time. Once the participant enters the message and interferes with "send" to the cottage client or IM, the recipient sees the answer inside his own chat client or IM program.

However, the similarities end there. While immediate message communication is usually between two people who sail on the web, the chat client uses a separate network designed to allow numerous people to speak together in real time. Using a cottage client, the participant can discuss one of countless subjects with tens or even hundreds of other people.

The "chat room", each with its own object, is located on unique network addresses. The user chooses what subject he wants to discuss and then connect to the chat room. The chat rooms operate 24/7 and at the moment a chat room could jump with hundreds of participants or virtually empty.

Chat clients work in the Internet relay Chat (IRC). He is probably the most living and popular client of the cottage mirc . "M" means the author's surname, Khaled Mardam-Bey. This is shareware, available for a 30 -day free trial version.

Another popular chat client is xchat (Cross Chat). This chat client is open source - coding is available for anyone who checks it. Open source programs are particularly popular because public control usually means fewer errors and lessSecurity problems. Open source programs are free of charge and this client's Chu runs on Windows or Linux operating systems.

Trillian is a chat client combined with IM. It comes in two varieties, basic and for. Many people find that Trillian meets their needs. The cottage client you prefer will probably depend on your personal taste.

IRC is much more involved than fast sending messages and has its own "language" and Netiquette. If you are interested in using the cottage client and entering the IRC world, it is good to take an online lecturer, which is easy to find with a search engine. There are also chatting rooms for newcomers where those who learn about IRC can practice by talking together and asking questions of moderators.
