What is a vector file?

Vector file is the type of electronic file used for computer graphics. Some key features are that the vector file describes graphics in terms of mathematical points, coordinates and shapes. Graphics in the vector file will be easily scalable images. In addition, the type of vector image file is often used to create art for printing projects.

Vector files are created in different file formats. For example, one type of file format can be the type of encapsulated PostScript (EPS) and uses EPS as the file extension. The file extension can also be a proprietary file type that is created by a software package specifically designed for creating vector graphics. Some of these other vector file formats are AI, CDR and WMF. More sophisticated designs are created by joining and intersecting shapes. Each shape is Trev part of an individual object within a larger image. Vector graphics work most efficiently when design is made of shapes filledby individual colors or gradients.

One of the advantages of vector graphics is that images are scalable and graphics can be increased or reduced without distortion of the image. Thanks to this function, the type of vector file type is important in the logo design, as the graphic designer can easily edit the image to match different layouts while maintaining sharp and sharp appearance. Vector images are also used for illustrations, animations, cartoons and scalable fonts.

Graphics within the vector file differs from bitmap or raster graphics set. Bitmap graphics consist of pixels or image elements in the grid format that defines the image. These images stand out when displaying gradations, so they are useful for photos, but do not eat well. If they are reduced, the image will lose information and if reduced, the image appears pixel.

daThe advantage of vector files is that they are relatively small in comparison with pictures of bitmaps. It is also easy for illustration software to convert art in vector files into bitmap images. Conversion of the bitmap image to a vector image is difficult for software and often requires the designer to work with a picture to achieve good results.

Vector software software applications can use bitmap pictures as objects along with traditional geometric attributes of the vector. In some cases, images may be competing bitmap pictures for photorealism. This feature significantly increases the usefulness of these applications.
