What is the WLAN driver?
The Wireless Local Network (WLAN) is a software program that allows the computer to run and configure the WLAN device. WLAN devices include routers, wireless cards and wireless internet adapters. These devices form the hardware necessary to send a wireless network signal and connect computer with a signal. Users can use the WLAN driver to change Internet connection settings or to configure wireless settings on a notebook or personal computer. In general, a wireless card is installed on the computer, while the wireless internet adapter connects to the computer via the universal plug of serial collection (USB). Wireless routers broadcast a wireless signal and often provide a wireless hub that allows more nodes to connect to the Internet. Companies that produce WLAN devices that may require drivers, include Asus ™, Belkin ™, Linksys ™, D-Link ™ Anetgear ™.
Local networks (LAN) may be connected or withoutwire. In the LAN, the network center connects multiple computers, allowing them to share data. These networks are usually based on a centralized location and all computers are connected to a LAN located nearby. Most wireless network of hubs process cable and wireless connections to multiple computers. The WLAN controller is important in the LAN router because it allows the network administrator to configure security settings, user permissions and passwords.
Some Internet service providers (ISP) block users in the connection of more than one computer to the Internet by preventing more computer identification number called Media access control addresses, from connection to service. Many WLAN public programs allow the user to set the access to the media access (MAC) that bypasses the connection of multiple computers. Setting the MAC clone configure the access pointWLAN, so sends only one MAC address of ISP no matter how many computers are connected via the router. For ISP it seems that one computer connects to its service.
TheWLAN drive is usually part of the wireless network hardware when purchasing. For some common wireless devices, the WLAN driver may already be installed with a computer operating system. If the driver's disk is lost or the software becomes corrupt, updates or spare downloads for WLAN driver can usually be found in the driver's download section on the manufacturer's website, often in the section dedicated to customer support.
