What flashes BIOS?

The basic/BIOS input system (BIOS) is the core of the internal programming of the computer. The BIOS system is separated from the active parts of the computer, the parts that the user normally interacts with. When the BIOS needs a fix or update, it goes through a process called flickering. BIOS flashing allows the computer to directly interact with the system that is usually inaccessible.

BIOS computer is the first piece of software run after switching on the machine. This integrated program sets the basics for interaction between different pieces of hardware and software in the system. The BIOS allows you to start the operating system and load the computer interface.

For many years, the BIOS computer system has only been held on a standard reading chip. Like most of the chips only for reading that time, this chip could not be changed or upgraded. If the new BIOS was needed for the system, the chip had to be physically removed from the system and replaced by an anni chip. The exchange of this chip was a time -consuming and difficult process, far beyond the ability of the towerTšiny domestic users.

In the mid -90s, the new type BIOS came into normal use called Flash BIOS. This was on a special type of chip only for reading, which was not entirely for reading. Under the right circumstances and with the correct information it was possible to rewrite the information stored on the chip. This process was known as BIOS flashing.

The impact of BIOS flicker was huge. Users were able to reliably update their own BIOS systems. This allowed BIOS manufacturers to create fewer versions of their software. With a smaller number of versions, the complexity of BIOS systems increased. They soon integrated the system settings that were previously only available as a fixed Dipswitches or through an external hardware interaction.

BIOS flashing is an important part of computer maintenance. Because TBIOS is in the center of hardware and computer software, a properly functioning BIOS is necessary. BIOS updates allow newHardware types safely interact with a computer system and provided a more stable platform for hardware and software that can work on.

BIOS flashing is usually done through a program available from the motherboard manufacturer. Originally, the information should be loaded on the floppy disk as a bootable disk. The update process would happen automatically after restarting the computer. Although this option is still available for most updates, it is not a preferred method. Now a simple download program will check the BIOS computer version, download the latest updates, flicker BIOS and restart the computer - all through a standard user interface.
