Why is some internet shopping without tax?

Many people are pleasantly surprised when shopping on the Internet without tax. However, not all Internet shopping is a tax-based on where you live and where you are located from which you order. In most cases, you are only rated tax taxes on products that you buy from an internet company located in your state. If you order outside your state, purchases are generally without tax.

There are several states where all purchases are without tax. Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon do not have a turnover tax. So even if one lives in one of these countries, most Internet purchases are not taxed from companies in the home state.
