What are air lifts?

Aviation elevators are commonly used to process routine maintenance in high -ceiling buildings, but can be used for a number of tasks involving high, hard to reach areas. For example, they can be used to repair lines on telephones, lining of painting on large buildings or two -storey houses, increasing heavy objects to the shelves high from the ground and trimming of tree branches. While a ladder can be used for such tasks, the elevator offers greater stability and safety when used. Scissor lifts that can be classified as a mobile scaffolding use Criss-Criss-Cross braces that spread and stretch up. As the braces rise, the platform connected to the summit is also rising. Painters often use this type of air lift.

Cherry and bucket collectors are types of air lifts that contain a platform similar to a bucket on a long arm. As the arms develop, the platform is rising. The boom lifts contain hydraulic arm that extends out and increases pLatform. On the other hand, forklifts contain forks that move upwards as the lever moves. Each of these facilities requires special training for use.

In the US, the Association of Safety and Health Protection at Work (OSHA) offers educational programs to obtain a special OSHA license to use this equipment. These programs are strict and cover the operation of the machine, safety procedures, control and maintenance of the machine and the capacity of the machine load. Only people with OSHA operating licenses should use air lifts.

Statistics show that more than 20 operators die every year when operating antenna lifts. Of these, 8% are commercial painters. Most of these deaths can be prevented because most occur from incorrect reinforcement of the machine. Therefore, it is decisive to cheat all the tires on the elevator to prevent Machine from overturning.

Osha has simple instructionsto prevent injury when using air lifts. Many of the instructions are the rules of common sense, such as not using machines to drive. It is important to make sure that there are 10 feet (3 meters) between the elevator and any electrical line.

Operators should check that all wheels are locked and reinforced to prevent the air lifts from being converted. They should also mark the area surrounding the machine to guarantee passers -by so that they do not get too close to using the equipment. Anyone on the elevator should wear the appropriate safety harness in the air.
