What Are Bolt Cutters?

A bolt cutter is a tool used to cut electrical wires. A bolt cutter is a tool used to cut thicker wires. Generally there are insulated handle bolt cutters and iron handle bolt cutters, and there is also a pipe handle bolt cutter. Among them, electricians often use insulated handle wire cutters, whose working voltage is 1000V, which can be used for live working of low-voltage electrical equipment wires below 380V. Wire-cutting pliers are usually used to cut wires and cables, and their specifications are indicated by their full length.

Wire-cutting pliers are specially used for cutting thick-diameter wires, wires, wires and cables. There are three types of iron handles, pipe handles and insulation handles. Among them, the disconnecting pliers of the insulation handle can be used in live applications, and its working voltage is below 1000V. The bolt cutter can be divided into special bolt cutter and ordinary bolt cutter.

Dedicated bolt cutter is a kind of multi-purpose pliers which can be applied to the cutting of steel strands, wire winding, skin stripping, and equipped with a safety grip, as shown in Figure 1. ^[1]

Ordinary thread-cutting pliers, also known as oblique-cut pliers, are specially used for cutting thicker wires, wires and wires and cables.

For materials of different thicknesses and hardnesses, a diagonal pliers of appropriate size should be selected. Ordinary wire cutters cannot be used to cut iron wires or other metal objects, so as not to damage the mouth of the device. Wires exceeding 1. 6mm cannot be cut with diagonal cutters.
