If the organic substance contains other elements such as halogen, the oxidation products include hydrogen halide and the like. The exhaust gas is first heated to a temperature close to the thermal oxidation temperature by the heat storage body, and then enters the combustion chamber for thermal oxidation. The temperature of the oxidized gas increases, and the organic matter is basically converted into carbon dioxide and water. The purified gas passes through another heat storage body, the temperature drops, and it can be discharged after reaching the discharge standard. Different heat storage bodies can be switched over time by switching valves or rotating devices to perform heat absorption and heat release respectively.

So far, RTO has been used in the purification of organic waste gas for more than 30 years. It can be said that the technology is mature and the application is widespread ^[1] .
