Classification of solid tires
- Solid tires are generally divided into two types: bonded tires and non-bonded tires. The former refers to tires whose rubber is directly vulcanized on the rim, and the latter refers to tires which are vulcanized and then fixed on the rim.
- According to the shape, it can be divided into cylindrical solid tires and inclined bottom solid tires. According to the purpose, it can be divided into antistatic, conductive, oil resistant, high load solid tires, and environmentally friendly solid tires.

Use of solid tires
- A special type of tire, mainly suitable for special vehicles such as anti-riot vehicles, banknote transport vehicles, anti-terrorist vehicles, engineering vehicles, forestry machinery and so on.
- Solid tires are generally used under high load, which requires the rubber compound to have sufficient pressure resistance and abrasion resistance, high enough elongation stress, high hardness, low permanent deformation and good abrasion resistance.
- Solid tire is an industrial tire that is suitable for running vehicles under low-speed, high-load and harsh use conditions. Its safety, durability, and economy are significantly better than pneumatic tires. , Towing vehicles in ports and airports.
Raw tire making materials
- The main raw material is made of a special rubber material, all of which are solid except for the small hollow in the middle to maintain the center of gravity. The tires made in this way can be used as anti-nail, bullet-proof, mine-proof, anti-burning bottles ... well loved by police officers. However, solid tires are very bulky, and the handling is not very good after being installed in the car, so it needs to be further improved by professionals.
- Solid tires can be divided into non-mark environmental protection type, conductive type, alternative type, standard type, oil resistance type and high load type according to their uses.
- A. Non-marking environmentally friendly tires: Generally the colors are light, such as white, gray, green, yellow, etc. The color of the ground is almost close to the special industry, and tire marks will not be left during or during use, which keeps the ground tidy. It is used in industries requiring high cleanliness, such as medicine, electronics, food, and automobiles.
- B. Conductive tire: It can release static electricity during use, and will not generate sparks due to static electricity, avoiding fire. Generally used in gunpowder, oil, chemical and other flammable and explosive dangerous goods industries, conductive tires are only black.
- C. Alternative tires: Mostly used on European cars, such as Linde, Jungheinrich, STILL, OM, etc., also known as fast-mounted solid tires.
- D. Standard solid tires: Most models can be used.
- E. Oil-resistant solid tires: Solid tires that are used on roads that are polluted by oil and other substances.
Solid tire characteristics
- Solid tires have a long service life, low deformation rates, reduced vehicle maintenance costs, and increased driver comfort.
- Because the solid tire carcass is composed of full rubber, it can ensure the puncture resistance of the tire to the greatest extent, and fundamentally eliminate the hidden danger of puncture of the industrial vehicle during the load operation and in the harsh operating environment. Load of solid tires-small deformation, good running stability, because it is puncture and tear resistant, does not require inflation, avoids the heavy labor of frequent tire replacement and tire change, can improve vehicle utilization and work efficiency, and operates at low speed and high efficiency In vehicles, solid tires can completely replace pneumatic tires. [1]
- Alfant solid tires adopt advanced three-stage structure design, and the three rubber materials respectively ensure the overall performance of the tire. High rigidity and high strength of the base rubber and steel ring support, not only ensure the stiffness of the tire, but also ensure the tire and rim tightness, and fundamentally eliminate the slip ring problem of solid tires; high elastic middle rubber, effectively Absorbs the vibration generated during the running of the vehicle, which has comfortable driving and avoids damage to the vehicle. The thick tread rubber layer ensures the tear resistance and wear resistance of the tire and increases the service life of the solid tire; In addition, the reasonable drum and CLICK structure design of the LINDE forklift tires ensures the tire installation and close cooperation with the rims, widened tire sections, and improved vehicle running stability.
- 3. Advanced technology and formula design
- Alfant's solid tires are produced using the advanced technology of the British Industrial Tire Company with more than half a century of production history and experience. The rubber formula is designed to maximize the performance of the tire, especially the base rubber is imported from abroad with high rigidity. Low-heat-generating rubber compounds, which minimize the heat generation and temperature rise of the tires during operation, and at the same time improve the heat resistance of the tires, thereby solving the serious problems of solid tires such as swelling, slipping and bursting due to temperature rise; The advanced formula design reduces the rolling resistance of the tire.
- Fourth, the advantages in solving the tire slip ring, falling blocks, cracks, etc .:
- 1. After the imported fiber rubber is used as the base rubber of the tire, the heat generating performance of the tire is improved, and the running heat of the tire is greatly reduced:
- The solid tire and the rim are press-fitted together through an interference fit. Excessive heating of the carcass and expansion will cause the tire to slip. Fibre rubber has the advantages of good rigidity, high rigidity, good stiffness, small deformation, small expansion coefficient, and low heat generation. Therefore, the slip ring phenomenon caused by bulging in the hub caused by tire heat is fundamentally eliminated. 2. The tire block and crack are caused by various factors. In addition to the external factors such as the hard injury generated during the use, the internal causes are mainly caused by the aging of the rubber, and they are mainly thermal aging and light aging. The use of fibrous rubber reduces the heat generation of the tire, thereby eliminating the occurrence of cracks and blockage due to the damage of the rubber due to thermal aging.
- Fifth, the impact of structural changes on tire performance
- The widened cross section of the CLICK (easy to install) structure tire enhances the stability of the vehicle in operation.
Notes on the use and installation of solid tires
Installation of solid tires
- Pneumatic tire rims Solid tires and corresponding tyres are interchangeable. However, the loading and unloading of solid tire rims can be completed with auxiliary tools (tooling) on the press. To ensure the safety and accuracy of the installation process, the following rules should be followed:
- 1. Inspection of tires and rims
- First check the compatibility of the tire and the rim, that is, whether the tire specification and model to be installed are the same as the rim model. The rim widths used by the tires of the same specifications are different, so please confirm them before installation. Inspection of the rim includes defects and burrs on the rim. If there is a burr, first polish it flat, otherwise it is easy to hang the tire hub and affect the installation and use. [2]
- 2. In order to ensure that the tire can be installed in place smoothly and reduce friction with the rim, during the installation, the inside of the tire hub and the outer surface of the rim need to be sprayed and coated with lubricant. The lubricant can be selected from commonly used soapy water and washing powder water. Special lubricants for tires can be used under conditions, but oils and other common industrial lubricants must not be used, because they will swell rubber and damage the tire.
- 3. When the tire is placed on the rim, it should be flat and not tilted, otherwise it will be difficult to install, and it will swing left and right during use. The rim must be installed in place, and the bolts must be tightened, otherwise the slippery ring or tire rim separation may cause danger.
- 4. According to the requirements of the ETRTOEDI standard, the tires must be concentric when they are mounted on the car. Manufacturers with different specifications and different tires cannot be mounted on the same car or on the same axle, and cannot be mixed with pneumatic tires, otherwise it may cause personal injury and equipment accidents.
Solid tire load speed requirements
- Refer to GB / T10824-1996 for the maximum load of tires at different speeds. The speed loads of each specification in this specification are in accordance with GB / T10824-1996. The speed and load are the maximum values for solid tires. Due to the particularity of the structure, in order to avoid damage caused by overheating of the tire, solid tires must not be used for road transportation, and should not be overloaded, overspeeded, and run continuously for long distances.
Solid tire tire replacement
- According to the requirements of ETRTOEDI, when the tire is used up to 3/4 of its initial thickness, it must be replaced with a new tire, which is calculated according to the following formula:
- D = 3/4 (Dnew-Drim) + Drim
- D = outer diameter of tire after use
- Dnew = outer diameter of new tire
- Drim = outer diameter of the rim
Storage and maintenance of solid tires
- As rubber will accelerate aging under the action of light, heat, grease and chemicals, solid tires should be avoided in these environments as much as possible. When stored, do not directly expose to sunlight, and keep away from harmful substances such as light, heat, grease, acid and alkali. Solid tires should be placed flat, not standing, to avoid overturning and hurting people.
- Solid tire is an industrial tire suitable for low-speed, high-load running vehicles. It is widely used in various industries due to its long service life, high safety factor, wear resistance, tear resistance, fatigue resistance, maintenance-free, etc. Vehicles, engineering machinery, ports, airports, railways, flat and trailer vehicles in large and medium-sized industrial and mining enterprises and various cargo handling operations.
