In the afternoon of the same day, a British and German civilian explosive blasting company arranged three explosive delivery trucks to transport detonators and explosives to Longshan's mine for blasting stones. When workers unloaded explosives, an explosion occurred. The delivery vehicle was carrying more than 13 tons of explosives at that time, and 6 tons had been unloaded when the explosion occurred. The explosion also damaged the town of Yinghong across the river. The windows and doors of some houses in the town were shattered. The shattered glass caused minor injuries to nine people. The fatalities in the accident were those carrying explosives and mine workers.
The mine in which the accident occurred is a base for supplying cement raw materials to the cement company. There are currently 240 employees. At the time of the accident, 114 staff members were working in the mine. According to the blasting plan and design on the 27th, 469 detonator bundles and nearly 13.488 tons of explosives were arranged.
The five blasters at the scene have obtained relevant licenses after special safety training and related examinations. At present, the licenses have been transferred to the public security department, but no relevant safety requirements have been raised for the porters.
The company's shareholders are a Hong Kong company, while the actual shareholder is a Taiwan company [1] and currently employs 950 people. Wu Jianping emphasized that the company has the qualifications and conditions for the use of pyrotechnic products stipulated by the state.
