Draw a knife
It is a term in printing technology. Many people know about bleeding but don't know how to draw a knife because many people confuse the two. In fact, pumping a knife has the same effect as bleeding, but it is called differently.
In printing, if there is no background color of the two finished products during the imposition, there must be a certain gap between the two finished lines. Generally, 3mm each is left, and the gap on both sides is 6mm. If the two finished products have a background color, the plate center generally exceeds the finished product line by 3mm. This is called bleeding on each side of 3mm.
Therefore, the fundamental difference between pumping and bleeding is pumping: when the plate is smaller than the finished line, the gap between the two finished lines is called pumping; bleeding: when the plate is larger than the finished line, the part beyond the finished line is called bleeding.
