Draw a knife
Right!
- Draw a knife
- It is a term in printing technology. Many people know about bleeding but don't know how to draw a knife because many people confuse the two. In fact, pumping a knife has the same effect as bleeding, but it is called differently.
- In printing, if there is no background color of the two finished products during the imposition, there must be a certain gap between the two finished lines. Generally, 3mm each is left, and the gap on both sides is 6mm. If the two finished products have a background color, the plate center generally exceeds the finished product line by 3mm. This is called bleeding on each side of 3mm.
- Therefore, the fundamental difference between pumping and bleeding is pumping: when the plate is smaller than the finished line, the gap between the two finished lines is called pumping; bleeding: when the plate is larger than the finished line, the part beyond the finished line is called bleeding.
