What is the fuse cut -out?

The fuse cut -out is an electrical protection device used on the upper line systems to prevent damage to distribution transformers. These devices operate by placing the fuse link in the Transformer FEED cables. The link passes through the tube fuse holder by ensuring the fuse holder in the position on the cut -out body. If the connection melts and separately under the conditions, the fuse holder is released under its own weight, turns down to the hinge and hangs vertically, giving a clear visual indication of its condition. Most fuse cut -outs also include a metal ring for the fuse holder, allowing the maintenance and repair staff to manually disconnect the fuse if they are obliged to work on the transformer.

The pylon mounted distribution transformers are an integral part of machine power grids, the power force tapped directly from lines to consumer points on the ground. These transformers are particularly sensitive, as well as consumer points, that feed on the overcurdsed damage caused by frequent energy overvoltage on the ceiling lines. The fuse cut -out is a commonly installed protective device on top -line transformers, which not only prevents power damage, but can also be used as a switch to the transformer insulation and its distribution network. Fashion in which the function of the bonds also provides a clear visual indication of failure conditions from a considerable distance to facilitate the rapid detection of failures.

While there are many different variations of the basic concept of fuse cutting, the basic operational principles remain the same all the time. The equipment usually consists of pairs of contacts separated by heavy porcelain insulator. The lower contact is designed to receive the suspended end of the non -conductive tubular fuse holder that allows the holder to turn freely on the contact assembly. The length of the fuse holder allows you to make contact with the topThe contact assembly and effectively create a bridge between them. The holder is attached to the upper contact using the fuse connection, which passes through the fuse holder and is connected to the upper and lower contact assemblies.

This arrangement sees that the fuse link forms the conductive path between the upper and lower contact sets and at the same time retains the fuse holder in the position between them. The incoming power supply from the upper line is connected to the top contact and output power to the transformer to the lower contact. In this way, the power supply is supplied to the upper contact, via the fuse link to the bottom contact and then to the transformer. If the power supply on the ceiling lines occurs, the clutch is melted, the power supply is effectively reduced to the transformer and allows the fuse holder to turn on its hinge and fall away from the upper contact. Most of the Cutusestava T fuses are mounted horizontally or at an inclined angle to facilitate the free drop of the blown fuse.

Separate fuse holder then becomes jaThe Chamber of Visible indicator that the fuse has fired, which allowed a rapid response of the repair crew. Most fuse cut -out designs also include a brass ring mounted on the upper, undetected end of the fuse holder. This allows repair crews to manually disconnect the fuse and isolate the transformer if necessary.
