What is Jack Post?

Post jack is a steel post used to support the structure. This post is usually placed under the beam in the basement or on the ground floor. It is modified to adapt tightly, thus preventing the beam in the structure in sagging.

The setting occurs via the threaded rod connected to the steel plate until the correct height is made to allow the jack to fit firmly under the beam. Some versions of Jack Post use the pins and holes to edit the post. Post jack must be placed on a cement or concrete floor to support the weight of the structure without sinking into the floor. This is achieved by placing a wooden beam or a short part of the steel connector column on the large screw type connector and turning the connector until the floor increases slightly. The post of jack is then placed under the support beam and and the advocated to adjacent. When the screw connector is removed, the jack is obliged to hold the structure and prevent any capture.

It is also wise to place a steel plate under the jack mail to spread the pressure from the structure out and from the post. This will also prevent the post from breaking the floor on which it rests. Most of the highest boards on these lifts have the provisions of their nailing under a wooden beam or to screw them on site if the support beam becomes a steel I-Pars. This prevents jack over time in slipping from a position.

Because the jack columns are usually placed in an open base of the basement in an unsupported building, they can be eyes, if the basement is sometimes completed or rebuilt as a living space. Most builders puzzles the jack columns with a square wood structure are easily mixed with the surroundings of painting or wall paper in the same material as the walls. This gives the appearance that Jack is an integral part of the structure. In some new design, Jack posts are located at the time of assembly due to unmatchedthe level of support they provide.
