What Is a Mud Pump?
Mud Pump is also a popular concept of a wide range of pumps. The pump types involved in different regions and habits will not be the same. The mud pump described in this entry is a pump in most sense : Applied mud pumps in the field of oil drilling. In fact, some non-clean water pumps and mud pumps, such as sewage pumps and slurry pumps, are also commonly used. This entry explains to the reader the mud pump in the drilling field.
Mud pump
- Mud Pump is also a broad
- Mud pump refers to the machinery that transports washing fluid such as mud or water into the borehole during drilling. Mud pumps are an important part of drilling equipment.
- The two main parameters of mud pump performance are displacement and pressure.
- 1. It can transport high concentration and high viscosity <10000PaS and suspension slurry containing particles.
- 2. Stable liquid flow, no over-current, pulsation, stirring and shearing slurry.
- 3. The discharge pressure has nothing to do with the rotation speed, and the low discharge can also maintain high discharge pressure.
- 4. The flow rate is directly proportional to the speed, and the flow rate can be adjusted through a speed-change mechanism or a speed-regulating motor.
- 5. Strong self-priming ability, can directly suck liquid without installing bottom valve.
- 6. The pump can be reversed, and the liquid flow direction is changed by the rotation direction of the pump, which is suitable for the occasion where the pipeline needs to be flushed in the reverse direction.
- 7, smooth operation, low vibration and noise.
- 8, simple structure, easy to disassemble and maintain.
- I-1B thick slurry pump is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, brewing, papermaking, food and other units.
- Mud pump
- Before starting the mud pump, please check whether the inlet and outlet pipes are blocked, and whether the front and rear bearings are filled with butter, and check whether the packing is full. The mud pump should be equipped with a high-pressure clean water pump to deliver clear water that is greater than the pressure of the mud pump to the leak-proof packing to protect the packing. Do not turn off the flushing pump when the mud pump is in operation, otherwise the sealing part will quickly wear out. Whether the clearance between the impeller and the guard plate is reasonable has a great impact on the life of the mud pump. If the clearance is unreasonable, vibration and noise will occur when the pump is running, and the overcurrent parts will be damaged quickly. Therefore, when replacing the impeller, care should be taken to make the clearance meet the requirements of the drawing. The clearance adjustment can be performed by the adjusting screw on the rear bearing body. The allowable suction range of the mud pump is measured during the delivery of fresh water. The influence of the mud on the suction capacity should be considered when pumping the mud.
- The construction department shall have special maintenance personnel who are responsible for the maintenance and repair of construction machinery. Regularly inspect and maintain mud pumps and other machinery, and resolve problems as early as possible to avoid downtime. Attention should be paid to the size of the sand particles during construction. When the particles are large, the vulnerable parts of the mud pump must be checked frequently for timely repair or replacement. The most vulnerable parts of mud pumps are pump casings, bearings,
- During the construction, the continuous normal work of the machinery and the mud pump can make the mud pump exert its highest working efficiency. Therefore, there must be a reasonable schedule and strict management system.
- 1. Check before starting: All connecting parts should be fastened; the direction of electric rotation should be correct; the clutch is flexible and reliable; the pipeline connection is firm, the seal is reliable, and the foot valve is flexible and effective.
- 2. Before starting the submerged mud pump, the suction pipe, foot valve and pump body must be filled with water, and the upper end of the pressure gauge buffer is filled with oil.
- 3. Rotate by hand to make the piston reciprocate twice. It can start without load when there is no obstruction and the line is well insulated. After starting, wait for normal operation and then gradually increase the load.
- 4. Pay attention to the sealing condition of each sealing device during operation and adjust if necessary. Pull rods and auxiliary rods should always be lubricated with oil.
- 5. The sand content of the mud often tested during operation shall not exceed 10%.
- 6. There are several speeds of mud pumps. In order to make splash lubrication reliable, several speeds should be run separately in each shift, the time is not less than 30 seconds.
- 7. It is strictly forbidden to change the speed during operation. Stop the pump and change gears when the speed needs to be changed.
