What is an energy rectifier?
The power rectifier is a device used to convert AC current (AC) power supply to direct current (DC). The rectifier is the opposite of the power converter that changes the DC power to alternating power. Many small household appliances such as laptops, TVs and video game systems use the power rectifier to create a usable power.
There are two basic types of electricity. The AC power regularly reverse the direction from the negative to the positive and back. DC current does not give up direction.
Since the AC power supply can be transmitted by wires with minimal losses, the power supply that passes from the electric society to the average home is alternating power. The problem is that most small household devices fled DC Power. In order to allow these devices to run, the power supply must be used when connected to a conventional outlet from the wall.
The power rectifier can be as simple as the only diode. The diode is a componentSmall glass and wires that lead electricity in only one direction. The only diode can act as a rectifier by blocking a negative or positive AC current.
The power rectifier that uses one diode is rectified by half the wave. This means that only half of the wave reaches the output. It's cheap and easy, but very inefficient.
efficiency can be increased by several diodes. Power Oscalfier full waves converts the entire AC signal to DC power. This method requires four diodes in a formation called diode bridge.
full wave rectifier similar to the diode bridge can be produced using a transformer and two diodes. The transformer must have a center -tapped secondary winding. This means that the connection is linked to the halfway along the transformer. This is more efficient than a single diode, but more expensive than the diode bridge method. There are other forms of rectifiers, but they are most commonly boundŽivábány.
The main problem with any rectifier is that alternating force has peaks and trough. DC made of this type of energy has no constant tension. This can cause complications with electrical equipment.
In order to create a stable DC signal, the power rectifier must be associated with any type of extermination circuit or filter. The simplest of these is a reservoir capacitor located at the rectifier output. The larger the capacitor, the more the ripple will be smoothed. The disadvantage is that a large capacitor creates higher peak currents.
