What Is a Pull Switch?
Cable pull switch is commonly called "emergency stop switch". When it is required to stop the belt conveyor site, the conveyor is stopped by the switch action.
Rope switch
- There are two types of pull rope switches: manual reset and automatic reset, which need to reach the national IP level.
- The pull rope switch is composed of a pull rod, a reset handle, a cam, a lock slot and a micro switch.
- The pull rope switch is installed on the frames on both sides of the belt conveyor, and the switches are connected along the two sides of the conveyor with a wire rope. When an emergency occurs on the conveyor belt equipment, pull the wire rope anywhere on the site, the wire rope drives the driving arm to rotate, the torque cam is driven by the transmission shaft to move the precision cam, and the micro switch is driven to cut off the control line, so that the conveyor stops.
- The pull rope switch should be installed in the place with maintenance access on both sides of the conveyor, and the installation position should ensure that the maintenance personnel can easily operate in emergency situations.
- 1. Fix the pull rope switch on the frame.
- 2. The distance between the two switches on one side is about 50m, and they are connected by a wire rope with a diameter of 4. The tightness should be moderate.
- 3. In order to reduce the influence of the weight of the wire rope on the start of the switch, a bracket is installed on the rack every 3m to support the wire rope.
- 4. The other end of the steel wire rope is tied to the tension spring (fixed with a rope buckle). Without affecting the normal use, the two sides of the rope are tightened with a tensioner and the tension on both sides is balanced.
- (Note: For climbing conveyors, the switching distance and the length of the rope should be shortened as much as possible.)
- 1. First cut off the main power, and then use a multimeter to measure the live wire. The switch must be installed at one end of the live wire.
- 2. Cut the live wire in the right place, there are two connectors, and the pull switch also has two connectors.
- 3. Peel off the two connectors of the live wire to expose the wires, and connect them to the two connectors of the switch.
- 4. Cut off the excessively long metal wire at the connected joint to prevent two metal wires from colliding and shorting.
- 5. Unscrew the cover of the pull switch, you can see that there is a metal shaft, there is a hole at one end.
- 6. There is also a hole on the side of the plastic casing of the cable switch. First, pull the cable through the opening of the plastic casing to introduce the cable into the cable switch, and then introduce one end of the cable into the shaft to tie the knot. That's it.
- 7. Finally, unscrew the cover of the pull switch to prevent electric shock.
- The pull rope switch is a switch-type sensor (ie, non-contact travel switch), which is mainly used in conventional belt conveyors, shuttle conveyors, skirt-type feed conveyors, bucket elevators, packaging production lines, stacking / Reclaiming system, crane, excavator, ship loading and unloading system, horizontal feeder and other equipment, a kind of protection device for emergency shutdown on site. When an emergency occurs, pulling the rope switch anywhere along the site can send a shutdown signal to achieve protection of people and equipment.
- Because it has the characteristics of travel switches and micro-switches, it also has the sensing performance, and has the characteristics of reliable action, stable performance, fast frequency response, long service life, strong anti-worry ability, water resistance, shock resistance, and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in belt conveyor systems used in industries such as machinery, mining, textiles, printing, chemical industry, metallurgy, light industry, valves, electricity, security, railway, transportation, cement, ports and terminals.
- The pull rope switch may be used in some enterprises. In fact, it may not be seen in some places. In fact, some rural areas still use pull rope switches. Although the people are rich, some rural areas still use rope pull switches.
