What is the chain line?

The

series is one of the oldest and most basic hand tools and is commonly used in masonry and carpentry to help the user create a straight line between two reference points. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line and the string allows the user to mark the shortest distance that helps avoid sagging or tilting in the structure. The tool, which has been hundreds of years old, is usually used in conjunction with plumbing bob, commonly referred to as a plumbion line, or is chalk.

To indicate straight vertical lines, both chain line and plumbing bob are useful. It is used with plumbing bob, a weighted object with a pointed tip connected to the end of the string, the user must mark the reference points along the line between the starting point and the end point. This allows Mason or carpenters to maintain a straight line when he works, and also gives him more points to work. The string level can also be used to create a straight straight horizontal line.

CALK LINE is another version of this tool. A small box holds the length of the retracting chain, which, when we are likvit inside, is covered with powder chalk. At the end of the line is a hook for attaching to one point and when the line is firmly pulled between the marked two points, the user plucks or surprises the string. The chalk covered line then converts the visible line to the desktop. It is a useful tool for marking horizontal lines as soon as initial and end points are set.

The string is sometimes also used in exploration, but in many cases it has been replaced by a laser device. The use of a chalk line or lines is often based on personal preferences and the task.
