What is the tube expander?
The tube expanding is a device used to increase the diameter of the metal tubing. The tube expander consists of several individual parts of the steel placed around the threaded shaft with a wedge nut at each end. The whole assembly is held together by the spring encirclement of every end. The assembly slipped at the end of the piece of the tube and the tube expander is tightened and drew wedge nuts inside the steel parts. When the wedges are drawn into the sections, they are forced to out and extend the tube.
Most tube expanders come in a set of two or more different sizes. In most cases, the size is small to large, while small copper tubes adapt to small sizes and the large size works with the exhaust pipe. The advantage of using an expander tube with a small copper tube is mostly in plumbing applications. In a plumbing, long, straight length of hoses and then the size with the tube expander, so that it is nicely attacked around another piece. It does not require any ArmaTury or clutches and joints are tight.
Automobile exhaust systems are easily made of direct pipe lengths using the pipe expander and the pipe bending machine. A huge number of car types make it impossible for repair systems for all types of vehicles. Most car exhaust stores use a template to bend the exhaust system for a particular vehicle and use the tube expander to create joints for sections to fit together. Once the system is completely connected, the joints can be firmly held by installing the clamps around the joint flange or welding two pieces of hoses together.
When using an expander on a large or thick piece of tubing, it is often necessary to heat the tube to help expansion. By applying heat to the tube, it becomes more pliable and the expander does not need it to work hard enough to expand the tube. When deciding on the use of heat, it is necessary to be an expanderremoved from the tube before heating. The application of heat while the expander inside the pipeline can cause the expander to take and break. It is also a good idea to spray the inside of the tube with lubricant, such as versatile oil, to help the tube expander when moving inside the tube when it opens.
