What Is a Vacuum Truck?
Vacuum tires are tubeless pneumatic tires, also known as "low pressure tires" and "pneumatic tires". Vacuum tires have high elasticity and abrasion resistance, and have good adhesion and heat dissipation performance.
- vacuum
- Compared with ordinary tube tires, all-steel radial tires have the following three advantages:
- One: puncture resistance = safety-the surface of the vacuum tire is a layer of high-quality rubber. After inflation, the external surface tension increases, and a certain pressure is formed on the internal surface, which improves the self-sealing ability of the break. Once punctured, unlike ordinary tires That way, the gas is completely discharged in an instant, and it will last for a certain period of time, ensuring safety when driving at high speed.
- Second: super wear resistance = save money-vacuum tire rims have a larger diameter than ordinary rims and will not be affected by the heat of the brake drum during driving. Because there is no inner tube and lining, the tire and the wheel rim are sealed together. When the vehicle is driving at high speed, the high temperature generated by the friction between the tire and the road surface, and the internal (hot air) directly dissipates heat through the steel ring to quickly reduce the tire temperature, thereby extending the tire Life.
- Third: Low fuel consumption = earn money-vacuum tires are flat tires in metric units 315 / 80R22.5, 295 / 80R22.5, 275 / 70R22.5, and the tire crown angle is zero, so the adhesion is strong. It can maintain good driving stability and small friction, which is conducive to shock absorption and increase vehicle speed. The belt layer has high positioning, small radial runout and low resistance. This saves 3% of fuel.
- Trucks and vans with tubeless tires have higher abrasion resistance, safety, comfort and stability than ordinary tires [2]
- Precautions for use: Vacuum tires have many advantages, but they are not perfect, there are still some places that need more attention when selecting and using.
- 1. Must maintain the prescribed air pressure
- Tubeless tires are made of high-quality rubber, with good elasticity and flexibility, and a large range of air pressure adaptation. Even if the tire pressure is high, there is no hard feeling of ordinary car tires, so check the air pressure with a barometer. Except for car tires, tubeless tires generally do not deflate on their own. Therefore, check with an air pressure gauge and maintain the prescribed pressure when inflating. Never use the hand feel to determine whether to inflate the air as with ordinary tires.
- 2. Not pressure resistant, not suitable for overload. Vacuum tires are abrasion-resistant but not pressure-resistant, especially for the special national conditions that most trucks in our country are overloaded. Too much overload is not suitable for vacuum tires. Some heavy-duty trucks replace the guide wheels with vacuum tires, and the main driving wheels behind them still use ordinary steel tires. This not only guarantees the carrying capacity, but also improves driving comfort. It is also a good compromise.
- 3. Tubeless tires should also be avoided from being punctured and punctured by sharp and hard objects during use, to avoid contact with acids and alkalis, and contamination by oils will also accelerate the decomposition of rubber. Tires should be kept clean to prevent rubber aging and prolong service life.
- 4. Tubeless tires have better adaptability to asphalt and cement pavement, and can maintain strong adhesion even with water on the pavement, and have better stability. However, it has low adhesion and poor stability to soil roads, especially muddy roads. Motorcycles using tubeless tires are best used in urban areas, and not suitable for driving on dirt roads in the suburbs.
- 5. Repair is more troublesome and costly. Once the vacuum tire is punctured, it will be more troublesome to repair. The cost of repairing a vacuum tire is much higher than that of a tube tire. There are many repair shops in Guangdong and Fujian, so vacuum tires are widely used, but there are not many repair shops in some places. Many drivers worry that there are no places to repair a flat tire, so they are relatively less used in other areas. [3]
- After the tire is punctured, it can be repaired with special repair tools. If the motorcycle repair department does not have the repair conditions, you can use cold repair glue to perform cold repair yourself. The method is:
- 1. Remove the wheels and remove the tires. When picking up a tire, it is best to use a bamboo board to pry one side, and press both sides of the tire as far as possible to gently cut it off, taking care not to break the two edges of the tire.
- 2. After clearing the foreign matter at the cut, use sandpaper to sand the area around the cut with cold repair glue (you can apply more, but only once). After 5 minutes to 7 minutes, apply a large piece of cold repair film. Just inside the fetus. If the vehicle speed is high, it can be cold-filled into two layers to increase the repair strength, and two layers of cold-fixing film of the same size can be glued in the symmetrical position of the tire to maintain the wheel balance.
- 3 After the tire is installed, if it is manually inflated, it will start to be fierce, and strive to quickly fill and seal both sides of the tire, install the valve needle to the prescribed pressure, and then tighten the valve needle. Finally, check if it can be installed and used without leaking air [3] .
