Roller conveyor refers to a conveyor that uses a number of rollers mounted on a fixed support at a certain distance to convey an article.

- Unpowered roller conveyor is also called roller table. There are two types of long roller table and short roller table. The shape of the roller surface of the long roller table is cylindrical, conical and curved. The cylindrical long roller table is most widely used. The curved section of the roller table adopts conical rollers or double-row cylindrical rollers, which can make the article turn. The short roller path can shorten the distance between the rollers and has a light weight. The roller is generally tilted down slightly. When the item is heavy and the line is long, in order to save effort when pushing the item, the slope can be 1 to 1.5%. If you want the item to slip, the slope can be increased to 2 ~ 3%. There are many factors that affect the size of the self-slip slope, and most of them are determined by experiments. When the length of the line is less than 10 meters and the item is lighter than 200 kg, it can be arranged as a horizontal line. The self-sliding roller table is not easy to control the sliding speed of the article, so the length is generally not large. The width of the roller table is 100 to 150 mm larger than the width of the article. The minimum curvature radius of the curve segment is 3 to 4 times the width of the roller table. The distance between rollers is 1/3 to 1/4 of the length of the conveyed article. When the stability of the conveyance of the article is high. The interval can be 1/4 1/5 of the length of the conveyed articles. The roller diameter is determined by the load.
- Commonly used on horizontal or slightly inclined conveyor lines. The driving device transmits power to the roller to rotate it, and conveys the article by the friction between the surface of the roller and the surface of the article to be conveyed. According to the driving mode, there are separate driving and group driving. Each roller of the former is equipped with a separate drive for easy removal. The latter is a set of several rollers driven by a driving device to reduce the cost of equipment. Group drive transmission (Figure 3) includes gear drive, chain drive and belt drive. Powered roller conveyors are generally driven by AC motors, and can also be driven by two-speed motors and hydraulic motors as required.
- According to the driving method, it can be divided into power roller line and non-power roller line, and according to the layout, it can be divided into horizontal conveyance roller line, inclined conveyance roller line and turning roller line. Standard gauge drum line width is 200, 300, 400, 500, 1200mm, etc. Turning drum line standard turning inner radius is 600, 900, 1200mm, etc. Straight rollers have diameters of 38, 50, 60, 76, 89 mm and so on.
- It has the characteristics of simple structure, reliable operation, convenient maintenance, transportation of high-temperature items, energy saving, etc., and is suitable for transporting articles. Roller conveyors are divided into power type and non-power type, which can realize straight, curved, horizontal, and inclined operation, and can complete the requirements of divergence and confluence, and realize the processing, assembly, testing, packaging, and selection of items on the machine.
