What is a crumbly asbestos?
Crocilical asbestos is a term used to describe any material containing asbestos that can be easily crushed or crushed into powder by hand. A material that contains more than only 1% asbestos and is crumbly, is considered to be a regulated asbestos material (RACM)
Some common examples of crumbly asbestos are acoustic ceilings and tiles. Although the use of asbestos in these products was banned by 1978, those who have already remained on the markets and have been used for many years. Today they are still in households. ACM examples are asphalt roof shingles, vinyl asbestos floor tiles and transit tiles made with cement. ACM products are produced today. The danger with this type of material is that it can pose the same danger as the crumb asbestos during the reconstruction, repair or other construction. Burning ACM also creates crumbly asbestos.
When asbestos is crushed, it distracts the dust of microscopic fibers in the air that can remain for a very long time. These fibers can be unconsciously inhaled and permanently stored in the lungs and other body tissues, but the symptoms may not occur for 20 or more years. Inhalation of fibers was associated with cancer and asbestosis, a chronic lung disease similar to symptoms with emphysema. Unfortunately, there is no known safe level of exposure, and therefore asbestos remains a problem today.
If you suspect that your home may contain crumbly asbestos or ACM, you can consult a licensed asbestos expert to conduct your home and take over samples for analysis. If Asbestos is found, but your home is in good condition, the district for controlling air pollution (APCD) recommends leaving it and at the same time aware of the avoidance of damage that could cause fibers to release. IfYou want to remodel or make other repairs, a licensed asbestos supplier should be hired to remove the material legally and safely. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive because of the involved danger and care that needs to be taken to make it right. There must be wet materials to remove the fiber release and use dust emissions such as large special vacuums. The removed material is considered to be hazardous waste, it must be double wrapped and eliminated correctly.
sweeping, dusting or using a household vacuum will only produce fibers. They pass home filters and are not visible to the naked eye.
If a home or building is demolished for any reason, the law requires the licensed asbestos supplier to remove all ACM and crumbly asbestos before Demolition.
asbestos is a term that covers many types of naturally protruded fibrous materials that are long -term, lightweight and resistant to fire, making them a favorite VOLBU for construction until the danger appears in the 70s.
