What is the periareolar cut?
Periareolar section is a cut made by surgeon into the skin of the breast immediately below the lower half of the nipple yard. This cut is most often used during breast augmentation procedures, breast lifts and breast implants. With this type of cut, breast implants can be placed above or below the pectoral muscles, depending on the preference of the plastic surgeon and the patient. As periareolar incision heals, the scar is usually mixed into the pigment line of the court and the skin of the breast.
After a plastic surgeon made a periareolar cut to the breast, it creates a pocket to place the breast implant. The pocket can be placed under the muscle or inside the glandular tissue of the breast. Then the implant rolls into the protective case and inserted through the periareolar cut into the newly created pocket. Once the implant is attached to the site, the sleeve is removed and the salt can be added to the implant until the required breast size is reached.
SmallThe complications in the use of periareolar cut during breast surgery are common. Some women report the loss of the sensitivity of the nipple after the use of this cut; Women who have unusually small areoles can experience the greatest loss of nipples after the operation. In addition, breast milk channels, when cut, can result in future feeding problems. Normal bacteria placed in breast hunts can be released in cutting, causing an increased risk of postoperative infection. Many plastic surgeons will routinely prescribe antibiotics after surgery to prevent infection.
If the repetition of surgery is needed to adjust the size of the breast implant or to remove the implant, the periareolar incision may be safely set with plastic prastion. The scar from the first operation usually recovers as a thin flat white line; A plastic surgeon will often follow the original line of cut during a later procedure to avoid further formation of visible scars after Operaor breast. A plastic surgeon may decide that a patient who has developed a strong scar or has experienced a reduced sensitivity of the nipples may require a different place for future procedures. Instead of a periareolar section, an infrared cut to the loach under the breast fold or a transaxillary cut of the armpits may be used.
