What is a stretch bandage?
Stretch Bandage is a fabric bandage that is used to hold a bandage on the spot above the wound. These bandages are made of Gauzelike fabric, which is slightly flexible to easily wrap around dressing areas such as elbows or knee joints. The section allows some movement and a little swelling. Exprust bandages can be an important part of each set of first aid. The recorded use of this type of bandage reaches back to ancient Egyptians. In modern emergency rooms or hospitals, one will also see a stretch bandage that is used to ensure intravenous (IV) tube or wrap the splint. Is not intended to place directly on the cut or wound. First, a sterile pad should usually be placed on the wound and the stretch bandage was then wrapped around the area to secure it. Although these stretching bands are only slightly flexible, it may be important to check that the bandage is not too tight. If the injured area becomes bluish, tingle or feel cold, maybe you need to adjustbandages.
Some stretch bandages, known as cohesive dressings, are designed to hold on to themselves, making it easier to secure. Others have an adhesive already applied to one surface. All stretch bandages, whether they have adhesive properties or not, should be secured with bandage tape, safety pins or end binding. In order to join the ends, the person could cut off the belt in half over the entire length of about 6 to 10 inches (about 15.24 to 25.4 cm). The node should be tied in to prevent further tearing and then both tails can be wrapped in opposite directions and tied together.
Stretch BANDAGE can usually be purchased anywhere where first aid supplies are sold. These bandages are sometimes also described as bandages with rolled gauze or role. They come to widths ranging from 1 to 4 inches (about 2.54 to 10.16 cm).
stretch bandages are usually woven or crocheted in cotton orCotton/polyester mixtures. This means that they are usually soft, comfortable and without fiber. They also usually also provide absorption. They also distinguish them from bandages, such as ACE ™ bandages, most commonly used for athletic injuries, which are mainly made of elastic materials. Some brands of stretch bandages can use latex to improve flexibility, so it can be important for a person to read carefully and choose the one with the most suitable materials.
