What is Aconitum?

Aconitum is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the Ranunculaeae family and many names are known, including Leopard's and female Bane, Blue Rocket and Monkshood. There are at least 250 species of these high upright plants that come in different shades of blue and purple, yellow, white and pink. Although some parts of these plants are considered highly poisonous, they are sometimes used as herbal drugs for colds and fever colds, stress and restlessness, pain and inflammation. Although there may be small deviations in the whole species, most carries a similar structure. For example, most Aconitums are vertical growing plants that hatch dark green leaves and a characteristic cylindrical part of the flower that looks like a helmet. At the top of the high stems, large clusters of colored flowers bloom.

Over the years, many types have been Aconitump for different purposes. In mythology, Aconitum was reported to be poisoning theseus, while in Japan it was used to hunt and trap bears. In spite of the svHistory as deadly toxins have also been used in medicine for a long time.

Aconitum Napllus is one of the more common species used for folk remedies. Although Aconitum has a long history in folk and traditional medicine, many modern scientists feel that it is not enough for its effectiveness to outweigh the potential risks. These plants contain a highly toxic concentration of alkaloids that may cause tingling at first contact and whichD are used internally, they can spread throughout the body. Since the symptoms of aconitum poisoning progress, the patient may feel cold or rough and may develop diarrhea and vomiting, have difficulty breathing and experience a weak or irregular pulse. If these symptoms are not treated, they can potentially lead to death.
