What is the acupuncturist?

Acupuncturist is an individual who practices medical art of acupuncture. Acupuncture is a classic and traditional Asian practice that was created in China more than a thousand years ago. It is believed to promote natural treatment and proper functioning of the body. It is believed that acupuncture can help with disease such as headache, arthritis, lower back pain, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome and even infertility. It is based on the idea that there is a natural flow and energy balance in the human body. The Chinese call this energy qi (pronounced "chee"). It is assumed that Qi flows through energy channels known as meridians. When the body is healthy, the energy flows smoothly and in a state of balance.

When the Qi flow is prevented on meridians, it is assumed that it causes a number of health problems. Small needles are inserted by the Meridians of the body liberate any blockage and stimulate the free flow of Qi in the body. It is assumed that this will help the body return to natural and healthyHo state of balance and function.

Acupuncture began to gain more exposition and adoption in the Western world in the middle to the end of the 20th century. Although there is still a discussion of merit and the validity of acupuncture, it seems that acupuncture may have truly positive therapeutic effects. Western medical science claims that acupuncture is necessarily working because it restores balance with energy in the human body, but by stimulating the nervous system of the body. When small needles are inserted along the meridians of the body, they believe that they stimulate the nerves in the body. Nerves signal the brain to release chemicals that can block the feeling of pain.

The acupuncture therapy process is essentially painless, although the patient may feel a slight sting when the needles are first inserted. After inserting the acupuncture, the practitioner determines the specific amount of time that must remain in the body. On average, acupuncture treatment usually takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

In general, there are two types of licensed acupuncture practices: medical acupuncturist and licensed acupuncturist. Medical acupuncture is a doctor who also has a license to practice acupuncture, while a licensed acupuncturist is an individual licensed to practice acupuncture.

Generally speaking, a licensed acupuncturist devotes a greater percentage of his acupuncture practice than a doctor who is licensed to perform acupuncture. The licensed acupuncturist usually has more education in traditional Chinese medicine, while a medical acupuncturist has traditional medical education by another acupuncture training.

This does not mean that one is by its very nature more qualified than another. There are widely held views that the form of practice is most effective. Individuals who are interested in acupuncture should participate in their doctor or healthcare providers where they have more information and instructions.
