What is thyroid armor?
Armour® Thyroid is a registered trademark and a drug brand that replaces thyroid function when the thyroid is unable to produce its own basic hormones to regulate physical activities. This drug is described as a natural preparation, which is a pure form of thyroid hormones. The drug is used as hormone substitution therapy for people who have lost their thyroid function for various reasons that may include natural causes, surgery or radiation treatment.
From its introduction to the end of the 1950s, Armor® thyroid was the only prescribed drug available for the treatment of hypothyroidism. At that time, synthetic drugs came to the market by introducing levothyroxine, which was based on the natural thyroid hormone, thyroxine.
Levothyroxine, as a synthetic chemical compound, has become widely sold under various brands such as Synthroid®. These drugs competed with the Armor® thyroid in Prescription's drug market and began to be recognized thatE can mimic the basic hormones created by a normally functioning thyroid gland as well as refilling of the thyroid gland provided by natural supplements. Doctors began to prescribe synthetics in large numbers. Until the development of this drug, the treatment of thyroid extracts, sub -production of thyroid hormones have been used to treat the conditions of hypothyroidism.
The body metabolism is regulated by two basic hormones produced by thyroid: thyroreoxin or T4, working in tandem with triodothyronine or T3. The thyroid needs iodine to produce these hormones. Armour® Thyroid - as well as similar natural thyroid glands - use thyroid powder to solve these problems because it contains the same basic conditions T4 and T3, as well as the necessary iodine. However, synthetics, such as thyrolar®, achieve these ratios using chemical formulas to produce pseudo hormones that manufacturers claim to be equivalent to a natural ratioLA 4: 1 for T4 and T3.
Synthetics tends to have an edge on the pharmaceutical market over Armor® thyroid and other natural drugs on the thyroid gland. Although different patients reported that they "feel better" when using Armour® thyroid, clinical studies have not shown significant differences between natural thyroid supplements and synthetic products in terms of the use of both types of thyroid drugs. In addition, vegetarians preferred to use synthetic derivatives over natural drugs such as Armour® thyroid because of the use of animal products in its production process.
