What is ossoplastics?

Ossiculoplastic is performed by ears surgery to repair one, two or all three small bones of the middle ear. The operation is performed to try to improve hearing. It is usually performed under a general anesthetic and in most cases it only requires a night stay in the hospital.

The ear structure is complicated and is responsible not only for hearing but also to balance. The ear is divided into three sections: outer, medium and internal. The outer part consists of a visible ear, channel and ear drum. The ear drum vibrates as the sound travels on the channel. This in turn vibrates the asils of the middle ear.

Osicles are three small bones called Malleus, Incus and Stapes that connect as a chain. During their shapes they are commonly called hammer, anvil and caliper. The vibrations are transmitted to the inner ear, to a worm -shaped structure filled with liquid. The nerves then transmit the signals to the brain. The inner ear is also involved in the body of the body.

Osicles may be damaged in different ways, which requires asikuloplastics. Damage to the aspen can be diagnosed by an otoscopic examination by a physician and in rare cases scan computer tomography (CT). Decisions on whether orphans are required or useful will be made after consulting a doctor. The most common causes of damage to these bones are chronic middle ear infections, genetic defects and trauma in the head. It is often accompanied by damage to the ear drum, so tympanoplasty is often carried out at the same time as ossoplastics.

Osiculoplastic surgery includes a surgeon that creates a small cut either in or behind it. Damaged bones or bones are removed and usually replaced by bones from artificial material. In some cases, the patient's own cartilage is used to support the system. Operation is not lasting an hour if there are no complications.

after osikuloplastics, as with any operation, can exist KOMplikation. In rare cases, the hearing may be impaired rather than improved. It may take several weeks to months to prove the result, as the healing process takes some time. Heavy work, management and air transport should avoid after surgery.
