What Is Renal Artery Stenting?

The main causes of renal artery stenosis are renal atherosclerotic stenosis (ARAS), multiple arteritis (TA), and fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD). FMD is more common in women younger than 50 years of age, and the lesions mainly invade the middle or near hilar vessels or other large branch vessels. TA mainly affects the renal artery opening, while ARAS is high in middle-aged and elderly patients with other atherosclerotic manifestations, which are typically manifested as renal artery opening and stenosis of proximal vessels.
