What is the difference between Telprevir and Boceprevir?

TELPREVIR and BOCEPREVIR are drugs that can help people who have hepatitis C infections. Both drugs block a specific enzyme that the hepatitis C virus must replicate, and are commonly used in conjunction with other drugs. However, the way in which drugs need to be used varies and side effects are not the same with these two drugs.

Although Telprevir and Boceprevir have similar actions inside the body, they are different molecules and do not have the same structure. The telprevir has a chemical formula C 36 h 53 n 7 6 , which means that the molecule has 36 carbon atoms, 53 hydrogens, 7 nitrogens and 6 oxygens. On the other hand, the chemical formula has C 27 h 45 n o 5 , and it is a lighter molecule than Telprevir, with a molecular weight of 519.7 grams per mol (G/MOL) as 679.85 g/mol.

Telprevir and boceprevirizes on the enzyme, which produces a virus of hepatitic C (HCV). This enzyme is called non -structural protein 3 (ns3) withErin's protease and it is necessary to make copies for the virus. If one of the medicines blocks this enzyme at work, then the amount of individual particles of the virus in the patient's body decreases over time.

Ribavirin and Peginterferon Alfa are two drugs that are usually part of a therapeutic regimen that includes one of Telprevir and Boceprevir. When a person with HCV goes through Telprevir's treatment, he takes all three drugs for three months and then stops taking Telprevir. On the contrary, the treatment of Boceprevir requires the patient to take Ribavirin and Peginterferon Alfa for the month before the start of Boceprevir. The typical BocePrevir regime includes about three to 11 months of concurrent treatment with Three drugs together.

When you take Telprevir, one must enjoy some fat to help the body absorb the medicine. A typical recommendation is 20 g of fat in half an hour before taking the drug on Telprevir. Patients with BOCEPREVIR may not performIt gives special measures with food in addition to food at the same time as the use of the drug.

Each drug can cause side effects such as stomach sickness or diarrhea. Boceprevir is more likely to cause hair loss or causes irritation in patients than telprevir and is also able to interfere with sleep. On the other hand, Telprevir tends to produce skin problems more often than BOCPREVIR treatment programs.
