- General anesthesia for children.
- Indication
- Malignant tumors: mainly malignant melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
- 1. The conjunctival sac with antibiotic eye drops 3 to 4 times a day before surgery.
- 2. Flush the conjunctival sac before surgery.
- 3. General anesthesia for children. Local subconjunctival infiltration anesthesia and conjunctival surface anesthesia in adults.
- 1. Make a conjunctival incision in the resection area 4 to 5 mm outside the tumor lesion area.
- 2. Separate the conjunctiva and subconjunctival tissue and remove it together with the mass.
- 3. Cover the defect area with an adjacent conjunctival or metastatic conjunctival flap.
- 1. For infiltration anesthesia, the tip of the syringe cannot enter the tumor site, and the anesthetic can only be injected into the tissue around the tumor.
- 2. The resected mass should have a clear azimuth mark, in order to judge the resection of different azimuths during pathological examination.
- 3. After the mass is removed, all surgical instruments and gloves should be replaced before repairing.
- 4. If the sclera is involved, the sclera with a thickness of 1/3 of the lesion area should be removed together. If the lesion involves the limbus and superficial cornea, superficial corneal sclera resection should be performed. After a scleral and corneal resection, lamellar cornea or sclera transplantation should usually be used to repair the wound.
- 5. If the conjunctival defect area is located in the palpebral fissure and the defect is small, the exposed scleral surface may not be covered, and the normal conjunctiva around it may be repaired by itself.
- 1. Change the medicine every 1 to 2 days after surgery, and remove the conjunctival suture on the 7th day.
- 2. The postoperative treatment of lamellar corneal transplantation is the same as that of corneal transplantation.
- 3. Other therapies can be applied after surgery, such as radiation therapy.
