What is an eight bandage?

various breaks and sprains can occur on joints or bonds throughout the body. Often, a dressing is used to contain damage and maintain injury immobilized to promote healing. This type of wrap, which occurs on wrist, ankle, elbows, knee or even collarbones, requires an alternating style of application that intersects to imitate the creation of number eight.

Figure eight is usually made of strong dressing tape rather than the usual flexible dressing. This tape should have very small or no flexibility. The goal is to immobilize the joint - not only a little, but completely. The use of spreadable fabric tape will have less efficiency.

For each damaged joint, the dressing of eight is applied in a slightly different way. The wrists and ankles, as well as elbows and knees, are the most common places that apply this type of bandage. Broken collar bone may also need a bandage to bandage, although multi -centers recommend a strap to pack thisabout injuries, especially for its greater comfort.

The wrists are wrapped several times by circling the bone of the wrist with tape, in the direction from the thumb, which starts on the upper part of the arm. Then the bandage is secured in the right direction to wrap it over the palm and around the thumb. On the heel of the hand, the tape ovrates back to the transition point. It is then wrapped up and down and the bottom of the picture eight until it is evenly safe.

For the ankle, the tape is first packed toward the signs on the underside, then up and over the upper part of the foot. The heel can then be immobilized by creating a point of transition at the top of the foot, which forms a bandage of eight legs and ankle and leaves part of the heel exposed. Bandaging for elbows and knees is performed in a similar way. For collar, Figure eight is formed both shoulders and armpits, with a point of crossing between the shoulder blades.

Medical experts recommend the overrun of the joint if the banding on the figure causes Bolefingers or fingers. If you want to prevent the tape from not getting unscathed, fasten the end stripe with a safety pin, especially for participating in a sports event during rainy weather. The search for medical care is necessary instead of simply packing the joint and provided that it is a sprain that will heal. Pain could be caused by a fracture that requires specialized care.
