What are firefighting sprinklers?
Fire sprinklers are devices that together form a system of sprayers, with a fire under it. Fire sprinklers are designed to drain water when high temperature is detected. They are commonly installed in commercial buildings and in houses and at any point where lives and property from fire need to be protected. The hole on the sprinkler head is held closed, either a glass -sensitive glass bulb or a metal alloy with a specific melting point. When the sprayer is activated, the water descends and hits the deflector that shows the water down to the point of the origin of the fire. There are many types of deflectors that are able to direct water spray in different directions or patterns. In fact, this is not usually the case, as most of the automatic fire sprinklers will only work individually in a fire. This provides clear advantages over the so -called "Potoh" system, where all fire sprinklers are activated together. The first is that when only one sprayer is activated, the water pressure is maximalined above the fire, which helps to eliminate the fire earlier. Second, other areas of the structure are saved unnecessary water damage, which would occur when multiple spraying heads would be activated.
The first firefighting sprinklers were invented and used in 1874 by Henry Parmlee of New Haven, Connecticut. At that time he was President Mathusek Piano Works in New Haven. His invention was designed to protect his business and was partly motivated in response to high time insurance rates. Parmlee patented his invention, but did not see so much success with that. This was mainly due to the fact that in 1874 very few people could afford to install firefighting sprinklers. ParMlee eventually gained the influence he needed to broadly sell his invention, but it was not long before the newer versions were invented that replaced Parmer's design.
fire sprinklers are increasingly used in familyCH Homes as an effective and economic way to protect against damage to fire and loss of life. In these cases, the insurance company very often reduces the premium of the homeowner to install a sprinkler system. This is because sprinklers will not only contain fire quickly, but also use much less water than the fire brigade hoses. After the fire, less used water is reflected in less water damage and lower repair costs.
