What is clarinet?
Clarinet is both a family of tools and the only tool that belongs to the only reed group Woodwinds, which also includes saxophones. Clanets are used in orchestras and bands and perform in Klezmer Music, Woodwind Quintets, Wind Ensembles and Woodwind Choirs.
The individual reeds that are members of the clarinet family are as follows, arranged from the lowest to the highest.
- Contrabs clarinets in BB are the lowest clarinets, in the range of octaves lower than the bass clarinet. They are the only clarinets that can be made exclusively from metal and are reminiscent of appearances.
- contra-alto clarinets in EB, although sometimes also referred to as compabasses , have some differences: the range is higher, the transposition is different and the tool is characterized by Rosewood.
- bass clarinets in the BB series are octave under the bass clariNETEM and AMBIT is similar to Fagot. The lowest note depends on whether a particular bass clarinet has an extension. It is announced either at a height or in the bass key, it sounds either the main second or the main ninth lower than it is written.
- alto clarinets in EB are mainly used in bands and wind files. It sounds the main sixth lower than written and is generally not considered a solo instrument.
- Basset Horns in f sound perfectly fifth under the written part. They are no longer a standard tool for orchestral writing, but are used in older pieces, such as Mozart's Requiem, for historical accuracy. In and with low C.
- soprano clarinets are clarinets in BB or that most people refer to when they simply say "clarinet". Which of these two is selected for the use of May depends on the key of the work with the tendency to choose the BB for flat keys and and for works in sharp keys, but this is not a hard and fast rule. In popular music, jazz andMilitary music tends to find Bb Clarinet.
- sopranino/piccolo/high clarinets in DB and E, and formerly C, expand the soprano clarinet range and are used interchangeably, similar to clarinets and BB, EB used for flat keys and D for sharp keys.
All clarinets, regardless of their size or transposition, have the same finger system. Everyone also has a "break" - where the transition in the finger can be a problem for a player who is not an expert.
Clarinet was invented by Johann Christoph Denner at the very end of the 17th century and based on Chalumeau , the only reed with eight fingers and a series of about octave. In the 18th century, the tools were made of woodbox ivory and had three or four sections and two keys - Denner's innovation.
There are two Keywork systems - French and German - and five parts. The first part is mouthpiece , to which Rakos is held by a ligature. Furthermore comes barrelThe joint , which connects the mouthpiece to the upper joint tools where the left hand plays. Then the lower joint is connected for the right hand, followed by bell .
There are many well -known clarinet passages, including the introductory theme in the first movement of Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 and Ivan the Cat's theme in Prokofiev's Peter and The Wolf . There are many well -known clarinetists whose numbers include Woody Allen, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Richard Stoltzman and Evan Ziporyn.
