What is the sink flange?

Sink flange is a device used to connect a sink with a drain pipe. Typically made of threaded design, the sink flange is connected to the sink in front of the drain pipe connected to the flange. Tutty seals and plumbers are used to prevent leakage from the sink flange during installation. The flanges are made of metal, plastic mixtures and polymers and are offered in different colors.

In order for the sink to correctly dispose of water and any other materials that could be found in the washbasin basin, the sink flange is used to connect the drain pipe to the sink. The sink flange is usually a two -piece design, including a real flange with a collar. The pin is put onto the bottom of the flange and tightened against the sink to ensure the sink correctly. For most installations of the sink flange, the silicone seal is not used, but a small piece of plumbing sealant is a cylindrical roller and placed around the sink opening. The flange is Hnied in the outflow and planted in the sealant until the redundant sealant is pushed out around the flange.

As soon as it has settled in the sealant, the seal is located up and over the bottom of the flange and the connecting ring is slipped up and the flanges and tightened to the bottom. The ring is tightened until it attracted and the excess of the sealant, which has been pushed out of the flange lip, is wiped from the inside of the sink. The connection of the drain pipe is then attached to the bottom of the flange and the system is tested to leaks with running water. The sink is also connected and left to sit filled with water to check the leaks around the flange.

Early flanges were only available in chrome-designed steel or brass fittings, but the flanges are now produced in several colors to match the colors of the washbasins and granite top colors. Commonly made of plastic and cast resins, colored Flanges mixes into the sink and lends a unique look to the often overlooked area. Some flanges are offered in black, white and whitish color thatThey are supposed to add the color of the sink connected to the installation of the flange. Another feature common to almost all sink flange patterns is to include a stopper or a projection basket with a flange.
