What is the squirrel sun?
Sun squirrel is any kind of squirrel in the family Helioscurius . There are six recognized species and many subjects, usually differentiated by color. These squirrels come from Sub -Saharan Africa and most species are common in their endemic ranges. Like other members of the rodent family, the Suns have the sun incisors that are constantly growing.
All kinds of squirrels in the sun are originally from tropical and subtropical areas of Africa, south of the Saharan desert. Arborreal Animals, these squirrels spend most of the time on the trees and are often observed on the limbs of trees in the sun, so they got their name. They live in wooded areas from jungles to shrubbery, but are not found in savannah or desert areas. Different species in the family inhabit different countries in Africa, with some species such as the Gambian Sun squirrel, which is located in western, medium and Eastern African nations, while others such as the squirrel for the sun's motable, Found only in countries on the southerngood to the African coast.
Optional eaters, Sun squirrels are all -powerful and will eat almost anything they will come across. Many species eat a number of different types of nuts and seeds, as well as insects, eggs and other small animals. Members of the family Helioscurius were observed that they were consumed by reptiles, birds and amphibians, and they believe that they can also eat other small mammals. Although they are not hunters, catch and consume other animals if an opportunity occurs.
Members of the Sun Squirrels are small, weighing about £ 0.7 (318 grams) and growing to a length of 8 inches (20 cm). Their long, thin bodies and low weight help them move adept through trees. The color varies considerably between species and subspecies. They come in shades of gray, brown, yellow and red, and some have stains or stripes on the air back.
It is unknown how long squirrels of the sun live in the wild, although in captivity it is known to reach 8 or9 years. Most species are assumed that they behave twice a year, summer and winter. Women have small litters, usually only one or two offspring every time, so having two periods of reproduction significantly increases the chance of squirrels for successful offspring to adulthood. Sun squirrels are predominantly lonely animals, although some species, especially a squirrel with a red leg, often occur in pairs.
